Match Report: Thika Queens 4 Mathare United Women FC 2
We almost had them in the end but it wasn't our day. It turned out to be a goal fest in this away fixture against Thika Queens.
We conceded two early goals but we pulled one back from the penalty spot after Stacy Adhiambo was knocked down by the keeper an injury that sent her to the medics after the match. Our captain, Fauziah Kaunjeri showed why she is the preferred penalty taker with her superb goal that sent the keeper the wrong way.
We went on a break trailing 3-1. After the breaks' pep talk, the players were gunning for a comeback. We moved the ball quite well, a few chances here and there but we didn't find the finishing edge.
The hosts added the fourth goal after Mwanahamisi Dogo found the right corner from her wonder free kick.
We introduced fresh legs in the final quarter of the match and it immediately paid off. Dorah Achieng' looped the ball past the keeper to get our second goal. From that point onwards we were the better side and almost got the third goal but Judith's effort went narrowly over the post.
The results remained the same and that meant we lost our fourth consecutive match.
