Match Report: Mathare United Women FC 1 Kisumu All Starlets 2

It ended up to be a heartbreaking Sunday afternoon after our loss to Kisumu All Starlets in an evenly matched game on paper.

We took the lead a few minutes after kick off when Fauziah Kaunjeri's free-kick was put in the net by the visitors' defender for an own goal. Two minutes later before we could even finish celebrating our goal, the visitors were gifted with a goal after the resulting goal kick fall in the path of their striker who strikes home to level things up.

A couple of chances followed up for either team for the remaining time until we went for the break.

In the second half, we were the hungrier side for the winning goal. A couple of chances went begging to go in but it was not meant to be.

In the 93rd minute, the visitors pulled out a surprise counterattack that our keeper was unable to prevent this goal scoring opportunity.  That was a painful match-winning goal that we have watched this season.
