Match Report: Mathare United Women FC 1 Makolanders Ladies FC 0

Stacy Adhiambo battling for ball with the Makolanders Defenders

We were the happier side after yesterday's slum derby match against Makolanders Ladies FC. We took our first 3-points in our first home match of the season. The ladies displayed fantastic football in a game that we would have scored more than once.

We presented last season team's top scorer award to Judith Atieno and this surely motivated her to assist our only goal of the match after exchanging short passes with Dorah Achieng'. Seconds later it would have been two after Teresia Lundu's effort went inches wide from going in after leaving Makolanders' goalie well beaten.

Our passing game proved to be a difficult ordeal for our visitors that were left to chase the ball all over the pitch. We were the better side throughout the game and our players looked comfortable moving the ball around.

The visitors had no answer to our Stacy Adhiambo's first half goal and in our last kick of the match we almost got another goal after Esther Alouch's shot was blocked by keeper.
